Jewellery Care
Give your Eschati Jewellery the extra TLC it deserves, so you'll love wearing your pieces for years to come!
EJ gold plated jewellery is created with 18K gold electroplating over a base of solid 925 sterling silver. To prolong the beauty and lustre of your gold plated jewellery, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or chlorine, which may cause the layer of gold to lighten.
Found your perfect everyday staple that you don't want to take off? That's great! EJ gold plated jewellery is water safe and can be worn everyday without removal, but please be aware that everyday wear will fade your jewellery quicker than occasional wear.
- Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, applying perfume, fake tan, oils or moisturisers.
- Apply perfume 5-10 minutes before putting your jewellery on, this will give your perfume time to settle into your skin.
- Gently clean your jewellery in warm water and gentle soap and dry with a soft microfibre cloth (do not use silver polishing cloths or jewellery cleaning cloths as this can wear off the gold plating). Don't do this too often as frequent of excessive polishing can remove the plating over time.
- Do not use antibacterial soap, toothpaste, baking soda or chemical jewellery cleaners as they are too harsh for gold plated jewellery.
- Don't do your household cleaning with your gold plated jewellery on, household cleaners are abrasive and may wear down the plating.
- Be gentle and avoid excess pulling on chains or delicate jewellery, or dropping rings with stones in them as this may cause breakage or damage.
- The skin's PH balance can affect how your jewellery wears. More acidic skin types can cause metals to deteriorate faster than others. Eschati Jewellery are not responsible for returns on jewellery affected by these skin types.
- Stacking or layering certain pieces can cause rubbing on metals, affecting the wear of your jewellery. Eschati Jewellery are not responsible for returns on jewellery affected by plating or scratching caused by stacking or layering.
Storing Your Gold Plated Jewellery
Avoid storing gold plated jewellery with sterling silver jewellery or different metals, as this can cause tarnishing or fading. Store your pieces in separate pouches, in a jewellery box with dividers so different metals are separated, or hang on a jewellery stand in a cool dry room.
